Chełm Carbonate Peat bogs

"Chełm Carbonate Peat bogs" track, also known as the route of "Swamp and Marsh" leads from Dorohusk to Chełm. Its length is about 52 kilometres. There are unique carbonate peat bogs on the track, including reserves called "Roskosz", "Brzeźno" and "Bagna Serebryskie" belonging to Chełm Landscape Park, with very valuable flora and fauna.
About 142 species of birds exist in the area, and more than 110 of them breed here. It is one of Europe's most important aquatic warbler breeding places, as well as an important breeding ground for the Montagu’s harrier and the great snipe. The huge potential of this place for the occurrence of birds waders (snipes, lapwings, black-tailed godwits) makes it through the proper management of trying to reproduce a number of populations of these birds.
